Slay-A-Thon is a fan based benefit for The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Illinois. Fans of Whedonverse programming attend an all-day event full of Pop Culture goodness. Our event is for fans with the hearts to give to an amazing charity through donations from sponsors, raffles, games and our incredible silent and live auctions.

 OUR MISSION 

For the past 14 years, the Slay-A-Thon benefit has raised over 220,000 dollars and granted over 36 wishes for The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Illinois. In 2014, the Slay-A-Thon benefit was recognized as Outstanding Community Event at the Make-A-Wish Donors reception for their support and generosity.

EVENT FAQS 

PLEASE GRAB A SPONSOR SHEET HERE AFTER REGISTERING! 

The Slay-A-Thon is free to anyone who wants to attend. We watch episodes of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," music videos, and clips from our favorite stars, and we have games and auctions. Attendees are encouraged to make a donation as well as getting others to sponsor them like a real marathon would. Click here to grab your Donation Sheet. We take cash, checks made out to The Make-A-Wish Foundation, credit cards and PayPal for donations. Donations are fun to get! Ask your family, friends, and co-workers. If your company has a matching plan, use it! All donations are tax deductible. Restrictions: Guests under the age of 21 (legal drinking age) must be accompanied by a parent or guardian (a person 25 years of age or older who agrees to be responsible for the conduct and safety of the underage guests). One parent or guardian can accompany up to a maximum of four underage guests. Underage guests must remain with their parent/guardian. The other guests appreciate this and D&B’s insurance carrier requires it.  
We have two silent auctions and one exciting live auction during the event. The silent auctions are out during the event with signup sheets to bid, and the schedule will tell you when they end. The live auction includes special and rare items for which guests yell out bids until we have a winner!

We take cash, checks, credit cards and PayPal for your purchases.

Trivia Showdown ~ Think you know the Whedonverse well? Test your skills in a 25 person elimination trivia for the shows of the Whedonverse. Last one standing wins a prize!

Buffy Pyramid ~ One person gives clues and one person must answer the question. We will demo the game!
We have a bar and wait staff within the room to be available to everyone with Dave & Buster’s awesome menu! Some items on the menu actually support The Make-A-Wish Foundation. Just remember to tip your bartender and wait staff like a true slayer!

Dave and Buster’s validate parking for the lots provided for guests. The rate generally is 7 bucks for 10 hours!
1. Bring yourself and anyone else to help spread the Buffy love!
2. Your donation sheet and donations (Most donations earn a prize, too).
3. Items you want to donate to the event for next year or for our live auction.
4. A camera or video camera, as we like to see all the pictures of people enjoying the event.
5. Spare change to throw at the screen during your favorite moments!
6. Cash, Checks and Credit Cards!
7. A valid ID like a driver’s license.
This year's event will be held on June 25, 2016. We start taking people in to register your donations and get you rolling with your raffle tickets at 11 a.m., local time. We start the episodes around 12 p.m., but you can come whenever you want as the event is all day 'til midnight. Or come just for the live auction!
