Hayes is a 16-year-old young man from Belvidere, Illinois. He may appear shy, but his family tells us he is quite the comedian! Hayes loves to play football and basketball, and he is very good at wrestling. He is also a little bit of a daredevil, as he loves doing tricks on his BMX bike! Hayes is a big fan of junk food, especially pizza and Taco Bell. But, more than anything, Hayes loves the car he recently received from his parents for his birthday!
Hayes was born with congenital heart defect. He has had several surgeries and currently has a pacemaker to help his condition. Despite the struggles he’s been through, Hayes is a tough young man and keeps a positive attitude.
When Hayes was asked to wish BIG, he wished to refurbish his “car to be” with his dad. Thanks to your generous support and the efforts of the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Illinois, Hayes’ wish came true! Hayes and his dad love working on cars together and it was their dream to customize the new car so it would be ready for Hayes on his 16th birthday. The Make-A-Wish Foundation provided Hayes with everything he needed to refurbish his car! On the day of his big reveal, Hayes was surrounded by family and friends for a birthday bash at the Historic Auto Attraction, where they explored the world of antique cars. Hayes and his father worked hard to make his car special and unique. Hayes loves driving his new car and is so proud of it — he shows it off everywhere he goes!
